BAJAUR: Doctors and employees of Mamond (Larkhlozai) Category D Hospital held a joint meeting and protest with regional leaders and people on Monday, demanding immediate release of hospital funds.

Tehsil Mamond (Larkhlozai) Category D hospital of Bajaur District was handed over to a private company Trans continental pharma (TCP) last year under Public Private Partnership. After which dozens of staff including doctors, paramedics and nursing staff were appointed in the hospital, but the employees were given salaries for only three months and now the salaries have been suspended for 7 months, said Muhammad Bacha, public relations officer TCP.
Regional leaders Malik Sultan Zeb, Malik Shah Wali Khan Mamond, Malik Riaz, Malik Shamsuddin, Malik Sajjad, Malik Mazrof Khan and others along with the hospital staff and dozens of regional people protested in the hospital premises, and demanded DG Health, Secretary Health, Chief Minister, Governor and other top officials to release hospital funds immediately otherwise we will be forced to protest.
Regional leaders and people told to Bajaur Times that this hospital is no less than a blessing for us, most of the people of both Mamond and Charmang tehsils of Bajaur are benefiting from it and because of this hospital, the pressure on DHQ Khar Hospital has reduced considerably.
