Monsoon Plantation Drive kicked during Green Day celebration at Chitral University.

CHITRAL: Green Day celebration ceremony was organized in Chitral University, during the event Monsoon Plantation campaign also kicked. During the event, experts stressed that the only way for human survival and to minimize pressure of natural calamities is to plant more and more trees. Saplings were also planted in the ceremony and free saplings were distributed among the students of the university.
A ceremony was held in University of Chitral in which the Vice Chancellor of Chitral University Professor Dr. Muhammad Zahir Shah was Chief e guest.. Representatives of Forest Department, Non-Timber Forest t, Agriculture and Swell Control Departments also participated in the event. In this regard, the experts also delivered a presentation in which the importance of plants and forests was highlighted. l Director Administration University of Chitra Dr. Nadeem welcomed the guests. This event was organized by the Department of Botany, in which the Head of Department Dr. Ashfaq . Hameed also spoke about the importance of plants and forests.

The students of Chitral University explained the importance of plants and forests while talking to this scribe and said that these trees provide us huge quantity of oxygen and have a very positive impact on our environment.

According to Hafeezullah, a lecturer in the Department of Botany, plants and trees help to protect us from natural calamities. We should plant more plants to compensate for this loss because in recent flood mostly our biodiversity damaged in flash flood.

The Vice-Chancellor of Chitral University also gave his message to the nation that these trees are our friends and give us food, shade, fuel and fruits.
At the end of the program, the Chief guests including staff of other departments also planted saplings in the lawn of the university. Plants were distributed free of cost among The students of University of Chitral which they will plant in their fields and houses to control the lack of forests in the country and through this we can avoid the damages of natural calamities.
